The Shipping and Handling Coordinator is responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing deliveries for the company. This role ensures that shipments are accurate, timely, and handled with care, while maintaining organized inventory systems. The position also involves occasional fabrication work, seasonal supervision of part-time staff, and direct deliveries when needed. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.
- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming deliveries for accuracy, quality, and condition.
- Prepare, package, and stage outgoing deliveries, ensuring orders are complete and correct.
- Coordinate shipment schedules with Project Managers.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records.
- Track and manage inventory related to shipping and receiving operations.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Organize warehouse and storage areas to ensure efficient access and safety.
- Make company deliveries as needed, ensuring goods arrive in excellent condition.
- Safely load, unload, and transport materials using company vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with light fabrication tasks when needed to support operations.
- Collaborate with the fabrication team to prepare materials for shipment.
- Lead and coordinate part-time/seasonal employees during peak workloads.
- Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. A CDL license is a plus.
- Basic fabrication or mechanical skills preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.
- Primarily warehouse and shop setting, with occasional driving and outdoor work.
- Physical activity required, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
