Maine Waste to Energy is seeking an experienced and motivated Shift Supervisor to lead plant operations at our waste-to-energy facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for safe, reliable operation of power generation and waste processing systems while supervising shift personnel.
- Supervise and direct operations staff during assigned shifts
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of plant equipment in compliance with procedures, permits, and regulations
- Assume responsibility for facility operations in the absence of the Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager
- Perform and oversee equipment start-ups, shutdowns, and electrical switching
- Conduct chemical and water analysis to meet plant specifications
- Maintain accurate operating logs, records, and reports
- Manage waste pit operations and material flow
- Provide on-the-job training and oversee contractors as needed
- Respond to abnormal conditions and emergency situations
- Enforce safety rules and operational standards
- Valid Class “C” Maine Driver’s License
- Maine State First Class Stationary Engineer License (required)
- Ability to obtain QRO Provisional Certification within 3 months and Full QRO within 6 months
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, hot environments, and adverse weather- Bachelor’s degree + 5 years power generation or industrial plant experience - Associate’s degree + 7 years experience - High school diploma + 10 years experience
- 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights)
