JOB TITLE:Senior Seismic Processing Geophysicist
General Description:
The Senior Seismic Processing Geophysicist is responsible for executing in-house seismic processing projects, including advanced Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) applications, and providing on-site technical support and training to international clients. This role requires extensive international travel (approximately six months or more per year), primarily to China.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Independently execute seismic processing projects using in-house software and data, from raw data through final deliverables, including Full Waveform Inversion (FWI).
- Provide on-site technical support and professional training to international clients.
- Collaborate with clients to apply in-house seismic processing technologies to their projects.
- Deliver technical presentations to clients, peers, and management.
- Promote industry best practices, data quality standards, and workplace safety.
- Expert-level knowledge of seismic processing, with strong emphasis on Full Waveform Inversion (FWI).
- Proven ability to independently manage complete seismic processing workflows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Client-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English (reading and writing required); proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, LICENSES and EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s or PhD in Geophysics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related Geophysical subject from an accredited school.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience as a geophysicist in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods (approximately 6+ months per year).- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
