Senior Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer (Assembly & 3D Printing)

We are seeking a highly hands-on Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in assembly processes, 3D Printing and advanced manufacturing techniques. This role will be critical in driving product industrialization, implementing SKD/CKD strategies, and ensuring compliance of our next-generation Mobility products.
You will work at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and operations, helping transition our designs into serial manufacturing.
- Lead the full development, validation, and optimization of assembly processes for prototype and production programs.
- Define and implement end-to-end manufacturing workflows, including fabrication, and additive manufacturing.
- Work with Suppliers to optimize their manufacturing workflows and processes to lower costs
- Bring top notch expertise in 3D Printing strategies to make decisions on using additive manufacturing techniques to lower BOM and Tooling costs.
- Drive DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) reviews with engineering teams.
- Develop and execute SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) and CKD (Completely Knocked Down) strategies including packaging, logistics, and reassembly processes.
- Partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure manufacturing readiness, quality, and scalability.
- Create and maintain work instructions, tooling strategies, and process documentation.
- Approve manufacturing process SOPs, PFMEAs and Control Plans to achieve highest quality in production processes.
- Support prototype builds, pilot production, and ramp-up, resolving manufacturing and assembly issues both internally and at suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, certification, and VIN-related requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, supply chain, quality, and program management teams to achieve goals.
- Execute assigned responsibilities under the direction of the Vice President of PMO & Operations
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering (master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, assembly, or product industrialization of high-volume mobility products.- Strong expertise in assembly line design, fabrication, and additive manufacturing.
- Deep demonstrable expertise in 3D printing technologies.
- Hands-on experience with SKD/CKD manufacturing models.
- Familiarity with automotive or RV industry standards.
- Proven experience in prototyping, pilot builds, and production ramp-ups supporting launches of volume products.
- Experience developing & implementing manufacturing process SOPs, process diagrams, visual aids, tooling plans, line balancing, continuous improvement strategies, etc.
- Ability to create and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and process documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Open to travel to supplier locations internationally to review manufacturing processes.
- Six Sigma experience and qualifications.
- Experience with automotive certification and homologation processes.
- Knowledge of U.S. regulatory frameworks (DOT, NHTSA, CARB, etc.).
- Experience working with overseas manufacturing partners.
- Familiarity with PLM, CAD, and ERP systems.
