KMC specializes in high-performance alloys and friction materials from raw materials to finished products under one roof in Orillia, Canada. Manufacturing unique heat resistant alloys and high nickel/chrome alloys primarily for the petrochemical industries, Kubota leads the industry in quality and advanced technology.
Key Function: Direct the efforts of staff and initiatives in activities supporting sales and marketing for Kubota Materials Canada Corporation.
Major Responsibilities (not limited to):
•Engage and foster professional development of all staff and provide opportunities for learning within budgeted resources and individual need
•Oversee work activity to ensure adherence to requirements under OHSA, including regular risk assessment
•Develop and implement KMC’s Marketing & Sales strategy
•Optimize selling prices, and sale margins, through effective negotiations on major projects
•Develop new customer base and new markets (markets such as reformer tubes, ethylene cracking, furnaces for petrochemical industry and castings for other applications)
•Manage, review and approve all quotations in conjunction with internal Technical and Sales teams
•Attend pre-award meetings and negotiate commercial and technical aspects of contracts
•Monitor and control receivables as per contractual terms and conditions
•Act as liaison with customers regarding progress/delivery of projects and troubleshoot delays
•Advise, oversee and lead staff in the development and monitoring of sales indicators and improvement initiatives
•Determine and align improvement projects with organizational objectives with regular monitoring and adjustments
•Represent the department(s) program areas in meetings, as required
•Act as emergency response, outside regular business hours, for matters requiring Senior Manager authority
•Manage Department goals and objectives to ensure alignment with the President
•Support Kubota Global Identity, with the Brand and Spirit statements of Kubota Materials Canada Corporation
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university (BEng, BE)
•Professional Engineers of Ontario designation (maintain current standing)
•Minimum 10 years sales experience in a manufacturing industry
•Minimum 5 years leadership experience
•Experience in project management (certification preferred)
•Legal knowledge of contract review, terms & conditions, and regulations
•Ability to draft intellectual property & confidentiality agreements
•Comprehensive knowledge of the heat resistant cast steel business, markets and products
•Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies
•Ability to interpret and work with specifications including ASTM, ASME CSA, PED
•Working knowledge of chemical and physical testing and heat treat procedures
•Ability to interpret blueprint and layout drawings
•Basic understanding of machining, welding and fabrication
•Ability to create, maintain and assign work within an allotted budget
•Proven ability to lead a multi-functional department
•Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
•Superior interpersonal and communication skills
