Job Summary

Provide technical support in the Nuclear Strategic Projects Balance of Plant department for the Salem Power Uprate Project. The successful candidate will perform the duties as a Civil/Structural Design Engineer for the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2. The engineer is responsible for designing and implementing civil and structural power uprate modifications.

Job Responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership to ensure plant modifications and project activities comply with structural engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.

- Interface with Project Manager, contractors and engineering staff to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.

- Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification.

- Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.

- Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Balance of Plant Engineering Manager.

- Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization.

Job Specific Qualifications

- BS Degree in Structural / Civil Engineering or related Engineering / Technical degree.

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural / civil engineering

- Availability for shift work during installation.

- Must meet nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.

- Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

- A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (see https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this position by May 7, 2027.

- Compliance with the Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required

Desired

- Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR)

- Experience in the nuclear or relevant industry performing Structural/seismic design/analysis.

- Knowledge of AISC & ACI design codes, NRC requirements for safety-related structures, and software analysis tools such as GT Strudl or equivalent.

- Experience with AutoPIPE, Stran, or Relap software programs

- Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualifications

- Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
