Our Nuclear customers and regulators expect flawless project performance, full traceability to both standards and contracts and a culture of continuous improvement. The Projects Quality Engineer (PQE will provide governance over Nuclear Projects and represent CSS Quality Engineering for all Nuclear opportunities. Project Quality Engineers review standards and contracts in the commercial phase to develop quality plans and effort estimates. During execution they will support Verification and Validation (V&V) of design efforts, assure assembly and acceptance testing traceability, resolve non-conformances and guide audits to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Provide Governance and Oversite for Nuclear Projects:
- Scrutinize customer specifications - ensure standards accepted are appropriate to our scope of work (Nuclear Safety / Non-Safety Related)
- Develop and deploy Project Quality Plans, including Software Quality Planning.
- Review and support Tables of Compliance analysis for Nuclear Standards cited in requests for quotation.
- Support customer audits to demonstrate compliance and performance.
- Conduct daily Project Gemba - represent the voice of employees on quality.
- Own certificates of compliance.
- Support Projects to engage in frequent customer interaction - represent the voice of nuclear customers to business leadership.
- Audit Projects to assure compliance with QMS and regulatory standards while reducing risk.
- Ensure nuclear project lessons learned are screened with finding, continuous improvement and corrective actions tracked.
- Collaborate with all functions (Sales, Projects, Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, Services) to Stop the Line early, resolve defects quickly, gather lessons learned and implement improvement actions as needed.
- Communicate and mentor widely to cultivate a quality culture of customer passion, compliance, and waste reduction.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university or college.
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in Quality role or Engineering with demonstrated Quality experience
- Ability to discriminate applications of Standards in Safety Related vs. Non-Safety related Applications (i.e. ISO-9001:2015)
- Experience in Nuclear Controls Projects
- Understands Nuclear Safety Standards (10CFRAppB, N299, N286, N290, ISO 19443, NQA-1, IEC-61513, IEEE 1012, IEEE 730)
- Process experience in Software and Electronics Industry; critical infrastructure experience a plus.
- Able to learn Systems, Processes and Tools quickly.
- Proven experience leading Quality standards implementations.
- Proven experience solving quality problems directly - can provide examples of hands on solutioning through full problem-solving cycles.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively - sustaining relationships while driving rapid organizational changes.
- Cross functional leadership experience in Operations, Services, Engineering or Projects.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $108,200.00 and $180,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
