Homer Electric Association (HEA) is a member-owned electric utility serving the central and southern areas of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska! We are excited to be seeking a Security & Network Systems Specialist I/II to join our team at our Kenai, Alaska, location.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Installs, configures, maintains, and optimizes technology security architecture and tools, network equipment (firewall, switches, routers, etc.), and server infrastructure (virtual and physical).
- Provides reports and analysis of security and reliability events, trends, and potential issues to the department, management, and operations groups.
- Develops and maintains policies and procedures to meet all cybersecurity compliance standards to which the Cooperative is subject, including those mandated by regulation, insurance, vendor requirements, or HEA policies.
- Provides tier 3 troubleshooting services within HEA computer information systems, and coordinates with personnel both within and outside of the department to ensure a smooth and timely flow of scheduled and unscheduled work.
- Associate's degree in information technology, computer science, information security, or other related fields; in lieu of the degree requirement, an additional four years of applicable experience may replace the degree requirement.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information security, or other related fields; in lieu of the degree requirement, an additional eight years of applicable experience may replace the degree requirement.
- Six years of experience with current on-premises server and workstation platforms, network hardware and architectures, and common office software and cloud apps, preferably with a focus on securing such systems.
- Highly preferred relevant industry certifications, such as, but not limited to, CISSP, CEH, GIAC, CCNP Security.
