The Supply Chain Management Account s Analyst is r esponsible for the management of procurement and inventory strategies, creating and delivering required reports to support internal and external customers , performing detailed analysis on any aspect of the supply chain as requested , and researching data trends. The SCM Account s Analyst will have in depth knowledge of gas distribution P VF products to best support c ustomers . These activities include coordinating a wide range of analytical related functions in support of the customer’s material demands to maximize supply chain efficiencies and inventory productivity.
The Role ’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Drive effective partnership with customer accounts ; communicate to deepen understanding of customer business processes, buying procedures, needs and requirements, and expectations for service in order to recommend specific products and solutions .
- Analyze historical and recent sales data against customer forecasting to ensure procurement and inventory are complimentary to the customer’s and MRC Global operational objectives .
- Prepare periodic reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually and ad-hoc) as require d .
- Research and develop information on new projects .
- Partner with branch and other internal resources to investigate and resolve all customer complaints promptly. Evaluate source of problem and follow to resolution .
- Assist in customer retention strategies by consistently illustrating MRC Global value proposition in conjunction with evolving customer needs .
- Travel to meet customers and to aggressively serve as the source for customers’ required supply chain information, maintaining consistent contact with customers .
- Handle confidential information related to vendor costs, operating statements , and other financial information vital to MRC ,
- Provide analytical and administrative support to initiatives in order to communicate insights, decisions and progress to management ,
- Use critical thinking skills to analyze and problem solve with data supplied from customer, supplier, and internal sources,
- Develop supply solutions for low stock and over stock items to improve inventory performance,
- Work on initiatives with cross-functional teams in supply chain, operations, and sales to maximize customer service and inventory efficiencies .
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree) and five years’ experience in working in a related business environment .
- Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain or related field
- Inside or o utside s ales experience
- Ability to learn MRC Global specific software .
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality (specifically regarding department, contracts and original cost of material), to prioritize multiple tasks, and to work independently and as part of a team .
- Demonstrated Proficiency with and accuracy in using MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook .
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills .
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail .
- Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines .
- Work is generally performed in an office environment .
- May require prolonged periods of sitting/standing .
- May require 20% - 50% travel.
