Specialty Metals distributor looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent people skills who wants to make a difference. This is a flexible, hybrid (inside sales, outside sales, purchasing) opportunity that will lead to personal satisfaction and career fulfilment. The successful candidate would serve as the outside sales representative for Central and Southern NY (Rochester - Syracuse - Elmira - Binghampton), while also providing support to the inside sales and purchasing teams as needed.
Experience:
•4+ years of experience in metal sales, industrial sales, or related B2B sales
•Knowledge of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, copper, or related metals a plus
•Existing customer relationships a plus
•Understanding of the aerospace, military, medical, automotive, and related manufacturing industries
•Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
Responsibilities
•Devise effective territory sales and marketing strategies
•Meet with customers to address concerns and provide solutions
•Develop new sales opportunities through research
•Present products and services to prospective customers
•Ability to cultivate customer relationships
•Monitor competition within assigned region
•Limited overnight travel may be necessary
Skills
•Strong knowledge of the Stainless Steel and Aluminum markets a plus
•Proven track record of increasing sales and revenue; field sales experience is preferred
•Strong work ethic and ability to develop long-term relationships
•Ability to multi-task, manage, and organize your workload
•Problem-solving aptitude
•Excellent communication and negotiation skills
•Tech savvy: CRM, quoting tools, Microsoft Office
