The Outside Sales role will be responsible for growing the market share of gas utility customers across the West Coast. One sales rep will cover the Northwest Region – Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Northern California; another sales rep will cover the Southwest Region – Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii. They will grow the company’s revenue through a combination of winning business with gas utilities we don’t currently serve, as well as growing the share of wallet with customers we already serve. This role will require significant travel; between 50-60% of the time will likely be spent out of the office in pursuit of new business. Specific areas of focus include:
· Solve customers’ gas pressure regulation and measurement problems
· Identify, targeting, and winning new business (
Grow New Revenue by $1.5M in Year One and $5mm by End of Year 4)
· Assist customers in qualifying and approving products within their gas infrastructure as part of an engineering approval process
· Convert gas utilities from competing product lines to the product lines offered by Holland Supply
· Provide training and lunch-and-learns to users of the products
· Identify and develop a targeted strategy for the growth of new accounts and cross/up-selling existing accounts (
Add 2 large, investor-owned utilities to our customer count by end of year one)
· Develop a culture of communication and technical expertise through training sessions
· Advise and work with the Senior Sales Manager to improve commercial terms with customers
· Collaborate with other functional areas, namely Operations, Purchasing, and Finance
· Manage personal sales budget for travel and training
· Integrate new product lines into the customer base as the company grows its product portfolio
· Strong understanding of gas pressure regulation or strong mechanical or engineering experience
· Strong understanding of gas measurement or strong mechanical or engineering experience
· Strong understanding of instrumentation or strong mechanical or engineering experience
· Previous experience selling to utilities and/or industrial clients
· Previous experience in B2B and technical products/services sales and/or marketing environment
· Uncapped commission based on new revenue growth - 4% of sales after achieving $500k revenue hurdle – once established, we expect outside sales reps to earn between $120k-300k in total compensation.
