Essential Functions
•In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and implementing programs, policies, and processes that support the Mission Solar Energy EHS program. Your contributions will directly enhance the safety and well-being of our team. The successful candidate will:
•Assist in analyzing, auditing, and investigating all work sites to reduce the risk of injury, property loss,environmental non-compliance, and other potential risks.
•Use independent judgment in applying EHS procedures.
•Plan and execute the functions necessary for the company's EHS Department, while maintaining records, reports, and documents to comply with both company and regulatory requirements.
•Ensure timely investigations, inspections, reporting, and documentation of EHS matters. This includes activities such as risk identification and management, incident reporting and investigation, waste minimization, pollution prevention and control, exposure identification and mitigation, as well as various compliance activities and the implementation of management systems across all areas of EHS.
•Participate in the development of training programs by identifying training needs based on EHS compliance requirements or empirical data.
Skills and Abilities:
•Strong computer, oral, and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities, are required
•Knowledge of environmental health and safety (EHS) programs, policies, procedures, and processes, alongside an understanding of local, state, federal, and regulatory requirements, laws, and best practices.
•Commitment to ensuring the safety, health, and security measures for our team at Mission Solar Energy. Your role as an EHS Specialist is vital to upholding this commitment.
•Ability to work night and/or weekend shifts in case of emergencies, and to maintain this availability.
Education and Experience:
•An Associate's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, along with 5 years of directly related experience.
•Professional registration or certification is preferred.
Physical Demands:
•Typical demands include those found in an office environment, such as typing, sitting, and staring at a computer monitor for extended periods.
•Occasionally, you may need to lift, carry, move, and/or position objects weighing up to 51 pounds unassisted while performing essential job functions.
•Regularly bending, stooping, crouching, ascending, and/or descending may also be required as part of essential job functions.
•Continuous observation, assessment, inspection, communication, detection, conveying, and exchanging of information will be necessary when performing your essential job functions.
