This position is fully onsite at our Saukville, WI facility.
POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
Assist in providing for the safety and health of employees through safe working conditions and operating practices. Minimize business losses resulting from employee injuries. Ensure compliance with governmental regulations and requirements. Educate and train new and existing employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:•Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Two plus years’ of safety related experience working in a manufacturing environment
•Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver classroom and computer training all levels in the organization
•Ability to interpret and apply state and OSHA regulations on a practical basis
•Strong verbal and written communication skills requiring tact and discretion
•Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks while being detail oriented
•Excellent interpersonal and team skills
•Ability to work in teams as a leader and as a member
•Ability to take initiative and work independently
•Ability to facilitate and lead cross-functional teams
•Familiar with basic features of Microsoft Office software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Manufacturing background or metals industry experience
•Experience interacting with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
•Knowledge of environmental compliance programs and implementation strategies
•Formal team training with demonstrated success from past team experiences
•Ability to be a self-starter and requiring little or no supervision
•Proficiency with advanced features of Microsoft Office software
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•Promote a safe working environment for all employees
•Assist in ensuring compliance and educate employees in regards to federal, state, and local safety regulations, and interpret compliance standards as they apply to the business
•Compile statistical information and track safety performance (i.e. lost days, IIR, LWDI, department injuries, causes, etc.) and provide information to necessary parties
•Maintain all safety documentation to ensure OSHA compliance
•Conduct or coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring to ensure regulatory compliance
•Support and develop Safety Teams within each department; participate in teams when appropriate
•Participate in safety process planning and implementation for new processes, equipment, and construction
•Exercise considerable judgment to develop safety programs, guided by precedent and within the limits of established policies
•Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements
•Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description
