PLP Redimix Ltd. provides ready-mix concrete to commercial, municipal, and residential customers across the GTA and Durham Region. PLP Redimix is a division of Powerline Plus Ltd., offering full-service, diversified ready-mix concrete solutions to commercial, residential, agricultural, and industrial clients throughout the GTA. Our industry-leading, state-of-the-art facilities allow us to deliver concrete in a wide range of styles, strengths, and grades to meet specific project requirements.

Overview

Redimix Drivers play a critical role in the productivity and efficiency of operations at PLP Redimix Ltd. and its facilities. This role involves a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

- Performing equipment safety checks

- Positioning loader in place and climbing onto truck to check for load readiness

- Performing concrete slump test

- Driving cement truck to various job sites

- Cleaning truck and equipment before and after delivery to ensure safety operation

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent

- Completion of an accredited driver training program

- Valid AZ Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract

- Minimum two (2) years of experience safely operating heavy equipment

- Ability to safely operate loading equipment

- A professional, courteous attitude when working with coworkers, supervisors, and the public

- Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, kneeling, squatting, and climbing onto trucks

- Willingness to work evenings and weekends when required

- Strong commitment to safety legislation and company policies

- Team-focused mindset with a willingness to assist others as needed

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Safely operating cement trucks and other heavy equipment at various job sites

- Performing daily equipment and safety inspections

- Conducting concrete slump tests

- Ensuring loads are ready prior to delivery

- Responding and assisting in the event of equipment breakdowns

- Cleaning trucks, equipment, and the Redimix plant and yard to maintain safe operations
