R&D CAD SPECIALIST

1) CAD Modeling & Drawing (SolidWorks)

- Create, modify, and manage 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.

- Generate accurate 2D technical drawings (detail views, dimensions, tolerances) for manufacturing and installation.

- Maintain structured CAD file organization with correct versioning and naming conventions.

- Collaborate with R&D and engineering to translate concepts into buildable designs.

2) Product Development Support

- Support product concept validation, including early design iterations and engineering review feedback loops.

- Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, sales) to clarify product requirements and feasibility.

- Assist in materials selection, manufacturing process alignment, and prototype releases.

3) Technical Documentation & Standards

- Create and maintain installation manuals, technical guides, and assembly instructions for internal use and dealer support.

- Document design standards, part numbering, revision histories, and CAD reference libraries.

- Support product lifecycle documentation (BOMs, revision control, drawings release packages).

4) Back-End Reference & Process Creation

- Build and govern backend processes for CAD assets, standard parts, templates, and drawing checklists.

- Standardize workflows for CAD, version control, naming conventions, and documentation practices.

5) Excel-Driven Workflows & Reporting

- Use Microsoft Excel to manage part lists, BOM data, process sheets, and project tracking.

- Develop automation (macros, formulas) to streamline parts tracking, costing inputs, and design change logs.

6) Cross-Team Coordination

- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to internal teams.

- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and project managers to ensure designs are production-ready.

7) Installation & Field Support

- Provide reference materials and technical support for installers, including clarifications on drawings and manuals.

- Review installation feedback and iteratively improve documentation quality.

Skills & Software Requirements

Must have

- SolidWorks: proficient modeling, assemblies, detail drawings, configurations.

- Excel: advanced use; ability to organize data, generate BOMs, pivot tables, and automate tasks.

- Strong technical writing for manuals and standards.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
