Advance is looking for a CAD Designer to support our manufacturing operations. This position may report to one of our three locations in Huntington Beach, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, Cedartown, GA or work remotely for qualified candidates residing outside of these locations.
The CAD Designer will generate and revise part and assembly drawings for storage rack systems using Autodesk Inventor and Vault. This position will interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and drawings to produce accurate technical drawings and collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure drawings meet design and production requirements. The CAD Designer will prepare and maintain documentation related to drafting and design activities and support continuous improvement and assist in resolving design-related issues.
- Associate degree or certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of drafting experience.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documents.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

- Effective verbal and written communication and collaboration skills in a team environment are required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.
- Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD drawings for parts and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.
- Manage and organize drawing files within Autodesk Vault.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5 standards.
- Prepare bills of materials and specifications for projects, products, and materials or equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure drawings meet design and production requirements.
- Assist in manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, troubleshooting, manuals, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts for design to market speed, lean product development, value engineering, and innovative designs.
- Perform other miscellaneous drafting duties as required and assigned by management.
