Are you ready to launch your career in design?

Ellis & Watts is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our dynamic engineering team. This position is ideal for individuals looking to build a strong foundation in technical drafting and design within a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Under the guidance of a Lead Designer and a team of Engineers, the CAD Designer will contribute to the creation and modification of technical drawings and 3D models using industry-standard CAD software. This role plays a key part in supporting design documentation across a variety of projects and offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and skill development.

This position is on-site at our Batavia, OH facility.

What You’ll Do … As a CAD Designer, you’ll support our design and documentation efforts by:

- Creating 2D drawings and 3D models from engineering sketches and specifications

- Updating existing CAD files with design changes and redlines

- Assisting with technical documentation like BOMs and part lists

- Ensuring all drawings meet Company and industry standards

- Organizing CAD files and maintaining version control

- Collaborating with engineers, project/design engineers, and fellow designers

- Performing quality checks for accuracy and clarity

- Participating in training and mentorship to build your technical skills

- Supporting drawing package preparation and distribution

- Pitching in on other tasks to help meet project goals

What We’re Looking For …

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

- An associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or SOLIDWORKS, and AutoCAD

- An understanding of engineering drawings and drafting principles

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

- Clear communication skills and a team-first attitude

- The ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines

- A willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment
