Position: 3D CAD Mechanical Drafter / Designer

Job Summary

Sagebrush Energy Equipment, the leader in pipeline measurement and fuel gas conditioning equipment for the pipeline and power industries, is hiring CAD designers. The CAD Designer will perform duties associated with both design and drafting for engineered systems, including the following:

- General Arrangement Drawings

- Piping and Instrumentation Drawings

- Piping Layouts and Piping Isometric drawings

- Structural and Mechanical detail drawings

- Modifying CAD drawings from Go-By jobs and existing 2D & 3D models

- Designing equipment and skid layouts in ACAD

- Doing quantity take-offs and Bills of Material

- Loading BOMs into purchasing system

- Responding to RFIs and processing ECRs

- Assisting engineers and project managers with the design and drafting requirements of company projects.

Specific experience with mechanical, piping, and structural systems is required and experience with electrical, instrumentation and control systems are desirable pluses. Experience with pipelines and interconnects, including measurement & regulating systems, control valve systems, main line valves, trap equipment, and filtration/separation systems, including API 1104 and ASTM B31.1, B31.3, and B31.8 Codes, are requirements. Plate steel fabrications is a plus, but not a requirement. Experience with combustion units like heaters and vaporizers is also a plus.

CAD Designer will be involved with project team meetings, proposal preparation, project implementation, and conceptual through detailed manufacturing drawings and as-builts.

CAD Designer will report to the Manager of Engineering and Design and will be required to report time spent on projects and prepare and submit weekly timecards.

CAD Designer will be required to participate in project planning and execution with regard to overall drawing sets, models and associated timelines.

Experience with 3D AutoCAD is required.

Experience with 3D Models of mechanical systems, as well as piping design, is required.

There may be additional duties in the style of mechanical or electrical design/layout as determined necessary by the project engineering requirements and specifications.

Must possess a valid US Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
