TAM Ceramics is a certified ISO 9001:2015 leading manufacturer of Zircon, Zirconia, and Titanate powders specifically engineered to meet the needs of today’s industries. TAM's facility encompasses 375,000 square feet and over 35 total acres.
The Quality Manager is responsible for managing all quality related functions and to assure all outputs meet ISO 9001:2015 and various applicable aerospace specifications. This role will drive a quality culture and implement changes to allow TAM Ceramics to demonstrate superior quality in their finished products. The role will work cooperatively with management to maintain and coordinate the quality control & assurance vision for the aerospace product market and other manufacturing. Manage all document control and control of records for facility. Verify satisfactory competence training and assist in fulfilling requirements for suitable documentation.
Evaluate and assure integrity of data from quality laboratory prior to release. Maintain data input system (QA-NWA) to assure all inputs are accurate and complete per testing plans/requirements. Implement alternative characterization testing as required per client, aerospace, and quality specifications. Conduct internal audits and represent the organization in audits by external sources. Train internal personnel for other internal audit needs. Work with all aspects of management to assure necessary documents are updated and suitable for quality expectations.
Assist laboratory personnel to assure satisfactory calibration scheduling and assurance. Quality manager will provide supervision to technical laboratory personnel collecting quality data and manage the area accordingly.
· Oversee all compliance related activities for ISO9001 and AS13100; internal and customer quality specifications
· Identify needs and provide quality training for building of quality culture
· Develop facility strategy to drive statistical process control in operations where possible
· Lead all laboratory audits and tours demonstrating facility technical capabilities
· Train, document, and manage all laboratory technician staff
· Assure all testing, documentation, equipment, and records meet requirements to satisfy ISO 9001:2015 standards
· Act as point of contact for customer quality issues and work with appropriate departments to address all challenges to satisfy customer expectations
· Work with engineers and department managers to generate appropriate specifications, control plans, PFMEAs, etc to minimize process waste and yield losses
· Present audit data and reports to senior colleagues and management
· Bachelor of Science degree in technical field (chemistry, materials science, ceramic engineering, or other)
· 5-15 years of progressive quality function experience
· ISO 9001:2015 QMS experience with auditing, registrations, documentation, etc.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
· To work well in a team environment or to work alone
· Able to manage multiple priorities and capable of managing constant incoming testing needs
· Capable of solving challenges in test equipment and data outputs to assure integrity of outputs
· Self-driven and curious personality desired to help drive improvements
· Familiarity with equipment for measuring specific surface area (SSA), particle size analysis (light scattering), moisture/loss on ignition (LOI), x-ray fluorescence (XRF), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectroscopy – both mass (MS) and atomic emission spectroscopy (AES), and x-ray diffraction (XRD)
· Quality assurance and aerospace/automotive quality expectations understanding
· Familiarity with Aerospace Engine Supplier Quality (AESQ) specifications including AS13100, AS9100D, RM13003 (MSA), and RM13004 (Defect Prevention)
Pay rate described is dependent upon experience (DOE) and would be negotiated upon candidate hiring
· Work safely and work to improve the safety work environment are prerequisites of employment
· Implement and work to minimize laboratory safety risks
· Wear appropriate safety equipment (PPE) and train personnel on appropriate use of PPE
