We are seeking a plant quality engineer to lead efforts to uphold and enhance product quality, recommend and implement corrective actions, and drive performance improvements across the assembly manufacturing processes. This position will be working in-office on first shift located about 30 minutes north of Dayton, Ohio.

This position reports to the Quality Manager and plays a key role in driving quality excellence in the production of compressors, units, and air management systems. The role is responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving quality programs, systems, procedures, and work instructions in alignment with quality standards and methodologies. This individual will lead efforts to uphold and enhance product quality, recommend and implement corrective actions, and drive performance improvements across the manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include support of all assembly operations, paint, final processing & packaging, gage calibration, electronic SPC, internal auditing, gages and measuring equipment such as CMM programming and operation, PFMEA’S (creating and updating), customer support including participation in customer meetings and audits, and supporting a culture of operational excellence to maintain world-class quality standards throughout the facility.

Good communication skills are a must as this position will interact with customers and suppliers. Core hours for this position are 7am -3:30pm, This role is based fully onsite, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.

As a Quality Engineer, You Will

- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols for HVACR products, components, and systems.

- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.

- Support and develop part inspection plans, testing & reliability plans, and reporting for new products and modifications to existing products. Verify that reliability, safety, and quality are unaffected.

- Work closely with the design and manufacturing teams to ensure quality is built into product design and production processes.

- Provide guidance in development and maintenance of the quality systems.

- Support compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, UL, and PED.

- Review and approve incoming materials, in-process items, and finished products to ensure conformance with specifications.

- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor and improve process performance.

- Assist in internal and external audits and certifications.

- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans (OMS), work instructions, and test reports.

- Train staff in quality procedures, tools, and standards.

- Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve supply chain performance.

- This is a physically active, hands-on role in a plant environment.

- Other duties as assigned.


Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

- Office and Manufacturing environments.

- PPE required: Steel/composite toed shoes, and eye protection when in a manufacturing setting.

- While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to stand, bend, or stoop and use hands, arms and walk frequently.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills

- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including the ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively.

- Ability to always exercise good judgment and professionalism. Ability to coordinate and assist with day-to-day production functions.

- Experience and demonstrated skills/knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

- Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

- 3-5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment

- Experience with ISO9001:2015

- Oracle experience
