We are seeking a self-motivated and detail oriented individual to join our team. The Purchaser will be responsible for overseeing procurement and management of raw materials, outside services and supplies. This will entail monitoring and managing the inventory, ensuring stock meets project requirements and safety levels are maintained. This person will be responsible for keeping an organized and balanced inventory.
The Purchaser works closely with the sales, engineering, and production team on a daily basis to facilitate the flow of information and product to best serve the needs of the customer and Company. The successful candidate has experience in inventory management, procurement, and operations. The candidate will posses strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
· Create work orders to determine material and service requirements
· Send quote requests to vendors and be accountable for pricing and lead times
· Enter Purchase Orders into ERP (Infor Visual), and link to corresponding Work Orders
· Receive Order Confirmations verifying costs and lead times
· Establish and develop new and existing business relationships with vendors
· Communicate unforeseen costs or delays with estimating and production
· Collaborate with receiving to ensure accuracy of deliveries, investigating any discrepancies
· Ensure ERP reflects accurate stock quantities, inventory costs and vendor prices
· Close work orders and issue material consumed
· Negotiate and monitor orders with significant lead times, high values, and blanket releases
· Maintain master Work Order templates and part IDs in ERP
· Monitor, evaluate, and strengthen internal inventory processes as needed
· Conduct inventory spot checks to verify quantities on hand
· 3+ years of work experience required in a procurement related role
· Familiar with Infor Visual ERP or AutoCAD would be an asset
· Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
