Position Summary

The Pump Rig Helper (Rig Hand/Laborer) assists the Rig Operator with the removal, repair, installation, and servicing of water well pumps, including high-service and well pumps. This is a hands-on, physically active role ideal for someone who enjoys mechanical work, teamwork, and working outdoors.

Primary Responsibilities

- Assist with pump repair, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting

- Extract and install vertical line shaft turbine pumps and booster pumps

- Prepare job sites by assembling parts, tools, supplies, and materials

- Operate and maintain company-issued equipment under supervision

- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on pump rigs, service trucks, welders, generators, and tools

- Complete required administrative tasks such as reports, driving logs, and timesheets

- Follow all safety procedures and help maintain a safe work environment

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

- Valid state driver’s license

- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

- Safety-conscious with an understanding of job-related hazards

- Reliable transportation to and from the company yard

- Ability to work as part of a team

- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Preferred (but not required):

- Experience working on water well pumps

- Familiarity with pipe wrenches, chain tongs, and power tools

- Experience operating pump rigs and/or crane trucks

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the work shift

- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs

- Ability to bend, kneel, pull, and work with vibrating equipment

- Work performed near moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment

Additional Information

- MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) check is required

- Pre-employment drug test required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
