The Project (Control Systems) Engineer: is a mid level engineering position. This role contributes to external customer project work as a technical lead for complex applications on multiple projects simultaneously. Work executed will be with a multi-discipline controls system team. This position requires acquisition and mastery of multiple automation skills and technologies. Strategic Leadership and mentorship of others is required in this role.
- Engineering Analysis and Design - designs products and systems to interface with machines, hardware, and software by developing or interpreting customer specifications. Proficient in several software and hardware applications, industries, processes or a combination of all of these. (Extensive familiarity required) Conceptualizes automation solutions and develops concepts to the point of proposing a workable automation solution.
- Software Configuration and Controls Design - performs complex analysis and software configuration and/or handles complex projects applying configuration and design principles. Coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications, and develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new industrial uses.
- Testing, Troubleshooting, Verification - independently performs and/or directs testing and troubleshooting tasks, using diagnostic tools, and makes recommendations based on findings. Collects data, analyzes the situation and applies generally accepted engineering principles toward a solution. Conduct and direct factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests as needed.
- Project Coordination/ Management - leader in the HEI company team, displaying interest in others’ success by sharing knowledge, following expectations, directing work, helping others succeed, and completing tasks thoroughly. As a senior member of the project teams, the SE is often the technical lead and consistently coordinates and/or manages all or part of multiple projects.
- Generally spend more time in a Client/Vendor/People Management role than other engineers on the same project and are recognized for their ability to develop client relationships and gain people's trust by their technical leadershipDegreed Engineer from an Accredited program• Demonstrated proficiency with the following: electrical design, PLC programming, HMI programming, or commissioning. • Experience with the creation of new programming and documentation rather than maintaining systems developed by others.• Demonstrated understanding of complex electrical principles and advanced electrical troubleshooting skills.
