The Planner will plan, schedule and monitor the movement of material through the production cycle. The successful candidate for this position will have strong communication skills, an ability to influence others and be detail oriented to drive a high level of performance through the factory operations. The ideal candidate for this position has experience in the manufacturing industry and an understanding of supply chain management concepts.
Essential Functions
- Monitors inventory levels to meet Customer Delivery Expectations and balance production capacity with demand.
- Works closely with Operations, Warehousing and Vendors to monitor product flow and lead times to ensure customer delivery expectations are met.
- Collaborates with Customer Service, Engineering and Operations to provide delivery lead times to support customer quotes and/or orders.
- Schedules all assigned production jobs promptly within the parameters of the dedicated equipment and labor staffing.
- Analyzes performance to schedule and recommends changes to improve productivity and/or efficiency.
- Routine data gathering, analysis and metric reporting on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
- The ability to work with all functional areas of the business.
- Fast learner, strong organizational skills, and excellent time management ability.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel (formula writing and Macro programming a plus).
- Proven problem solver with resiliency to adapt to change.
- ERP / MRP systems understanding as to configuration, parameters and data connections that impact Planning & Scheduling.
- Must be energetic and enthusiastic about manufacturing and supply chain management.
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year College or University.
- Minimum of 1-3 years working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a planning, scheduling or another supply chain role is preferred.
- ERP/MRP software experience is highly desirable.
- Office environment plus manufacturing/shop environment
- Day hours, 40-hour normal work week
- Frequent walking/standing in a production environment
