The Product Support Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring Beaumont Manufacturing and Distribution's product quality and reliability through the manufacturing process. Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager, this role supports product development, troubleshoots production issues, maintains technical documentation, and develops efficient assembly processes. The role involves close collaboration with production teams to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and ensure manufacturing efficiency. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering design and production operations, ensuring our products meet quality standards and can be manufactured efficiently.
- Provide comprehensive product support by collaborating with production teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues with existing products
- Determine root causes of product challenges and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Create, revise, and maintain Installation, Operation, and Maintenance (IOM) guides for new and existing products, ensuring clarity and technical accuracy
- Improve work cell efficiency by collaborating with production staff to enhance workspace organization, develop custom fixtures, and design specialized test equipment
- Develop and maintain detailed work instructions for production teams, ensuring clear, step-by-step guidance for manufacturing and assembly processes
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to address product-related issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of product modifications, issues, and resolutions using appropriate documentation systems
- Support customer technical inquiries related to product installation, operation, and maintenance
- Participate in product testing and validation activities to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- 0-3 years of experience in product support, manufacturing engineering, or related role (entry-level candidates with strong academic background will be considered)
- Strong hands-on technical skills and mechanical aptitude
- Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office suite
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with systematic approach to troubleshooting
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for reviewing designs and creating technical drawings
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical standards
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to audiences
- Strong interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively across all departments
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to technical details
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while supporting team objectives
- Practical approach to engineering challenges with willingness for hands-on work
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Ability to move around the shop to access work cells and products
- Ability to lift light to medium items (30lbs)
- Ability to use hand and power tools to disassembly or assembly products as needed
- Extended periods of computer use for design work and documentation
- Primary work environment is a standard office setting with engineering workstations
- Regular visits to manufacturing floor as needed
- Nonhazardous industrial environment with standard safety protocols
- Standard business hours: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
