As the Product Owner for the InSights Platform, you will be pivotal in guiding the development and success of our flagship energy intelligence software. This unique role requires a blend of deep technical expertise in electric power transmission systems and energy markets, combined with proven product ownership skills within an agile SaaS environment. You will own the product backlog, define user stories, and work closely with engineering and subject matter experts to deliver features that provide maximum value to our users navigating the complexities of grid capacity, curtailment, and LMPs
How You Can Make An Impact
• Own and prioritize the InSights product backlog, translating the product roadmap into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team.
• Collaborate closely with transmission engineering and energy market SMEs to gather, refine, and document complex technical requirements related to grid data, modeling, and analysis.
• Act as the voice of the customer and business stakeholders within the agile development team, ensuring delivered features meet user needs and strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with the sales team by providing technical knowledge about the InSights Platform during the pre-sales process.
• Assist in or conduct tailored product demonstrations for prospective clients, focusing on features relevant to their business needs and addressing technical questions.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and guide the team towards successful sprint execution and product increments.
• Support product quality by defining acceptance criteria, participating in user acceptance testing (UAT), and validating the accuracy of technical data and calculations within the platform.
• Work with the Technical Product Manager to align the backlog with the overall product strategy and roadmap, managing dependencies and trade-offs effectively.
• Assist in creating product documentation, training materials, and conducting technical demonstrations for internal teams and external customers.
Qualifications
Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS), or a closely related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager in a software development environment, preferably SaaS.
• Strong understanding of electric power systems, particularly transmission networks, generation interconnection, grid capacity, curtailment, and LMPs/energy markets.
• Experience participating in sales enablement activities or delivering software demonstrations is a plus.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical product value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience working within an Agile/Scrum development framework, managing backlogs, and writing user stories.
• Excellent ability to understand and translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable requirements for development teams.
• Experience with agile management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Familiarity with GIS concepts and data management is a plus

Location : This position is ideally based in Austin, TX, but remote work within the US may be considered for highly qualified candidate
Travel : Occasional travel may be needed (10 % or less ) for team meetings, client interactions, or industry events.
