Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial and construction painting, with experience in various painting techniques and materials handling. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Painter will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying and applying coatings using various methods, and ensuring high-quality finishes on all projects.
- Surface Preparation:
- Clean, sandblast, or otherwise prepare surfaces for coating.
- Mask, plug, or protect parts not to be coated.
- Application of Powder Coating:
- Operate spray guns and booth equipment to apply powder coating evenly and according to specifications.
- Monitor film thickness and ensure uniform coverage.
- Adjust equipment settings for proper application.
- Curing and Finishing:
- Load coated parts into ovens for curing, monitoring temperature and time.
- Inspect finished products for proper adhesion, coverage, and appearance.
- Touch up, rework, or reprocess parts as needed.
- Quality Control:
- Follow work orders, drawings, and specifications.
- Inspect and measure coating thickness, gloss, and adhesion.
- Record production and inspection data.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Maintain spray guns, booths, filters, and ovens.
- Follow all company safety, environmental, and PPE requirements.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous experience in powder coating, painting, or industrial finishing (preferred but not required – training may be provided).
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of powder coating equipment, curing ovens, and safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and steady hand-eye coordination.
- Familiarity with color matching and coating thickness checks.
- Ability to troubleshoot common application and equipment issues.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Manufacturing/production setting.
- Exposure to powders, chemicals, noise, and heat.
- Requires use of PPE such as respirators, gloves, and protective clothing.
Projected Total Compensation: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
