Industrial Painter

Overview

We are a growing custom metal fabrication job shop looking for an Industrial Painter to join our team. This position is hands-on, working with a variety of fabricated assemblies. The ideal candidate has experience with industrial coatings and a strong eye for quality and detail.

Duties

- Prepare steel parts and assemblies for paint (grinding, sanding, masking, cleaning, etc.).

- Apply industrial coatings using spray equipment (airless and conventional).

- Ensure proper coverage, adhesion, and finish according to specifications.

- Mix and thin paints, coatings, and primers as required.

- Perform quality checks to ensure paint thickness and finish meet standards.

- Maintain and clean painting equipment, spray booths, and work area.

- Follow safety protocols, including use of PPE and safe handling of paints/solvents.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

- 2+ years of industrial painting or coating experience (metal fabrication industry preferred).

- Knowledge of paint systems (epoxy, urethane, enamel, primers).

- Ability to read and follow work orders, drawings, and specifications.

- Experience with surface preparation and masking techniques.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently produce high-quality finishes.

- Forklift or overhead crane experience is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
