MTW Industries is seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and hard-working Plasma Operator. A self-starting individual with excellent attendance, attention to detail, and determination to succeed is essential to accomplish the production needs of our fast-paced, high-demand, industrial facility. Second shift availability is preferred, and excellent attendance is of utmost importance.

Position Overview

At MTW, products are primarily manufactured from steel and aluminum in our temperature-controlled facility. These items may be stand-alone products or used to produce multiple assemblies and structures. Plasma Operators are responsible for producing plate cut parts by programming, setting up, adjusting, and operating the computer numerical controlled (CNC) plasma machine(s).

Plasma Operators will keep records, uphold quality and safety standards while maintaining equipment and supplies. They will also load and unload the machine(s). The successful candidate must be extremely meticulous about the work they perform.

Attention to detail and creative problem solving are necessary skills as MTW requires all operators to work to exact design specifications and deadlines. Following written and/or verbal instructions is key. Plasma Operators must be able to read drawings, lift/maneuver heavy materials, and utilize math skills accurately.

Key Position Responsibilities

· Operate CNC plasma machine(s)

· Record keeping, machine maintenance

· Documentation of quality results while performing cutting processes

· Material handling, lifting/lift assistance, part cleaning, and inventory control

· Aid in other shop duties as needed, cross-training opportunities

· Maintain clean and safe workstation

Qualifications

· 3+ years Plasma table operating experience

· Computer skills and machine controls/instrumentation

· Conceptual, functional, and technical skills

· Excellent attention to detail, math skills, and ability to read drawings/prints

· Must be extremely detailed and meticulous about all job functions

· Excellent attendance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic

· Aptitude for good judgement and rational thought

· Good verbal and written communications skills

· Operation of safety equipment and knowledge/utilization of safe work habits, 5S/6S

· Strong desire for continued growth and learning (training opportunities occur)

· Must have the ability to:

- Lift a minimum of 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time

- Perform bending, stooping, lifting, squatting, and twisting motions while maneuvering materials

- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (MTW will provide training if needed)

- Read and accurately use a tape measure, rule, and square

- Follow directions, work instructions and schedules

- Troubleshoot fit, quality, or other potential concerns, create process improvements

· Candidates must pass pre-employment testing, including a drug test and a physical

· High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred

Full-Time Position Includes

o Minimum 40 hours per week

o Starting wage dependent upon experience

o Paid Time Off/Earned Sick Time following 120 days of employment

o Eight paid holidays following 90 days of employment
