Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Plant Supervisor to oversee the operation and performance of plastic extrusion machines. This role is critical in ensuring production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. You will work closely with both the production and quality teams to ensure that our products meet customer specifications and quality requirements. This is a hands-on position.
- Oversee health and safety protocols, ensuring that all employees follow safety rules and work in a secure environment
- Ensure new employees receive health & Safety training
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Conduct regular inspections of machines and work areas to ensure a safe, hazard-free environment
- Maintain or revise Health & Safety procedures
- Prepare specifications sheets and production schedule
- Ensure shift supervisors run products to meet customer demands
- Monitor that orders are put in correct packaging and pallets
- Enter daily production and monitor daily efficiency
- Monitor that quality checks are done and give feedback to shift supervisors
- Receive raw materials and consumables, and send BOL to accounts department
- Prepare BOL and ship material and finished goods to customers
- Organize the warehouse to maximize space
- Do weekly inventory of raw materials, finished products and consumables
- Promote a team-oriented environment and encourage cooperation among all shift members.
- Treat all coworkers with respect, fostering a positive and collaborative work atmosphere.
- Participate in cross-training on company equipment and provide training to new employees.
- Demonstrate leadership by guiding and supporting the team in meeting production goals and addressing any challenges that arise.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and procedures
- Experience in a manufacturing or extrusion environment (minimum of 1-2 years preferred).
- Understanding of plastic extrusion processes, machinery, and material handling.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality management systems.
- Experienced using Microsoft Word, Excel and outlook
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor machinery issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Forklift License.
