Job Description:

Exciting opportunities exist for motivated Pesticide Applicators based in our Calgary office. The successful candidate(s) will be involved in various aspects of a variety of projects. This position will report to the Southern Operations Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Apply herbicides using truck-mounted sprayers, backpack sprayers, and UTV sprayers

- Operate up to a 1-ton service vehicles using defensive driving practices in urban, industrial, and rural settings

- Navigate to job sites using maps and GPS systems

- Maintain accurate application records and communicate professionally with field-level clients

- Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on trucks and spray equipment

- Assist with vegetation removal using string trimmers and pruning tools

- Follow all safety procedures, policies, and field protocols at all times

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess:

- Alberta Industrial Certified Pesticide Applicator

- BC Industrial Vegetation and Noxious Weed Pesticide Applicator Certificate (preferred)

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with long shifts (60+ hours per week during peak season), with extended periods away from home.

- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record

- Previous herbicide application experience

- Experience in construction, oilfield, or industrial environments

- Certifications such as First Aid/CPR, CSO, H2S Alive, or UTV certification preferred

- Experience operating trucks, trailers, and UTVs (side-by-sides or quads)

- Background in agriculture, environmental science, or the energy sector preferred

- Prior experience working outdoors for extended periods

- Basic mechanical aptitude (e.g., changing tires, checking and topping off fluids)

Compensation:

An attractive compensation package, consisting of an hourly wage with overtime, full health and dental benefits, RRSP contribution plan and bonus incentives, awaits the successful candidate. This is a permanent position.
