Chicago, IL (Wood Dale office) — Midwest-focused field sales role

We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales professional to lead customer acquisition with foundries across the Midwest, focusing on Sun Metalon’s high-value metal recycling services and on-site recycling equipment.
This role involves identifying new customers, building strong and collaborative relationships, conducting on-site visits, and translating customer needs into commercial opportunities—from initial outreach to contract closing.
You will collaborate closely with technical, operations, and leadership teams to provide the right solutions and help drive Sun Metalon’s growth in the U.S. market.
- Identify and prioritize prospective foundry customers in the Midwest through market mapping and targeted account planning.
- Reach out to target accounts through phone calls, emails, networking, participation in industry events, and in-person approaches when appropriate.
- Conduct on-site customer visits to understand needs, evaluate material streams, and build strong working relationships.
- Coordinate sample delivery and qualification steps with customers and internal teams, ensuring smooth communication and follow-through.
- Prepare proposals and lead contract discussions and negotiations through closing.- 5+ years of field / outside sales experience in the industrial manufacturing sector (e.g., foundries, metalworking, industrial equipment, or related industries)
- Proven track record in B2B new business development and customer relationship management
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability and willingness to travel across the Midwest region
- Business experience selling to the foundry industry (raw materials, equipment, consumables, services, etc.)
- Existing customer network among foundries in the Midwest (IL, WI, IN, OH, MI, KY, etc.)
- Experience working in a startup or fast-growing environment
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally to deliver customer value
