Position Summary
A career in Operation Support will allow you to work with other departments in the organization to efficiently plan operations activity, optimize routing of work, as well as scheduling work for internal and external crews. The Planning & Analytics Department will be responsible for workforce planning, work volume, resource availability and allocation. This function will also perform Project Planning duties that will allow for coordinating with other departments to meet output requirements, preview jobs, material, tool, and resources. In addition, the Planning and Analytics Department will be responsible for generating financial metrics on cost to perform work, variance and forecasting support, benchmarking performance, and regulatory support. This department will assist with the measure of performance metrics for operational departments.
Hybrid Role – 4 days in Glassboro Division – M-F 7am-3:30pm Essential Functions:
Roles within Operation Support will focus on providing exceptional service to Operations in the following areas:
Planning:
- Develop and maintain a strict schedule compared to estimated time of completion.
- Establish the priorities and determine resource allocation for the effective and efficient delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Provide a direct interface and coordination to ensure timely completion of scheduled work.
- Perform evaluation of emergent and maintenance work and ensure schedules account for accurate resources and completion time in accordance with guidelines, and applicable procedures.
- Schedule and lead routine meetings throughout the project to move project to completion. This also includes leading Operations Work Management Meetings to drive performance using scheduling and analytic tools.
- Develop and standardize field job assessments to ensure field employees are aware of conditions present at their work assignments.
- Visit job sites to determine feasibility of work based on different conditions
- Work closely with Planning and Analytics Team to incorporate field job assessments into schedule and workorders
- Work with Operations Supervisors to incorporate feedback from field operations to improve assessment.
- Ensure field job assessments are accurately and timely completed
- Create/Maintain dashboards to track schedule inputs such as work volume and type, markout dates, finish by dates, and resource availability.
- Create/Maintain dashboard and/or reports to benchmark field performance against operational plan and provide recommendations to Operations on areas of improvement.
- Provide performance analysis to Operations Management at the operational and financial level.
- Provide monthly variance analysis support for Operations and forecasting. This may also include but not limited to budget preparation support.
- Provide regulatory support for Operations. This may include but not limited to rate case support.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Typically requires 1-2 years of related experience.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multi-tasked environment
- Detail-oriented with strong time-management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Motivated, with a passion to process improvement
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and take initiative
