Mechanical Systems Assembly Tech

At JW Hicks, we are looking for talented individuals to join our growing team in Knox, Indiana. Currently we are looking to add a Mechanical Assembly Technician. We have a passion for producing the best refractory products on the market and are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit and heart for "Doing it Right."

Mechanical Systems Assembly Technician Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to produce mechanical systems

- Prepare and assemble materials needed to build various mechanical systems

- Assist engineers in developing, building and testing prototypes

- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications

- Operate cutting tools and grinders

- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials and work in progress

Minimum Qualifications:

- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

- Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to all assembly details

- Understanding of proper use of hand and power tools

- Ability to use precision measuring equipment

- Ability to use sound technical concepts for problem solving

- High school diploma or equivalent required

- Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to employment

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with hydraulic cylinders

- Familiarity with crane rigging and lifting devices

- Experience with forklift operations

- Experience in an ISO certified environment

- Machine shop experience beneficial
