This position is based on site at the NWR Sturgeon Refinery working a 9/80 schedule.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Area Maintenance Lead, the Maintenance Analyzer Technician will work in close collaboration with other Maintenance Technicians, Operations, Projects, Turnaround and Contract Maintenance Technicians to maintain the availability and reliability (uptime) of the NWR Refinery. This role will also involve coordinating maintenance work activities and directing our contractor work force. In addition this role is expected to interact directly with other NWR departments including Process Engineering, Technical Services Inspections, Safety and Supply Chain Management (SCM).
Responsibilities:
- Supports maintenance, planning, and scheduling activities, perform inspections, execute preventive maintenance tasks and identify continuous improvement opportunities;
- Ensures Process Analyzer and Metering Systems regulatory compliance is maintained;
- Supports maintenance work management processes and ensures a high standard of data integrity is maintained in all aspects of the business processes;
- Assists maintenance and turnaround planners with job plans as required’
- Works closely with other disciplines providing technical support and design input, of the Process Analyzer, assets;
- Duties may include testing troubleshooting and repair of plant process analyzers. This includes but not limited to Analyzers, control valves, process transmitters, gas detection, , DCS and AMS systems & instruments used for safety and shutdown control, environmental monitoring, product quality, process efficiency and personnel monitoring equipment;
- Ensures that all Process Analyzer maintenance, trouble shooting and repair activities are carried out in a planned, efficient, and safe manner following NWR practices and policies;
- Leads and assures that proper safety practices are followed, use personal protective gear, respiratory protection, barricades, warning signs and devices to protect others;
- Participates in incident reports and investigations as required;
- Participates in and provides on the job training and competency assessments;
- Co-ordinates and works with vendor representatives to resolve issues on critical equipment;
- Mentors’ contractor work force on Analyzer Maintenance following NWR procedures;
- Co-ordinates Analyzer work during Turnaround activities’
- Available for emergency call outs for plant control and instrument systems issues during off duty hours;
- All other duties as assigned.
- Understands creates and maintains a visible commitment to process and personal safety, as well as the safety of others; adheres to NWR’s Core Competencies to drive results and a high performing culture.
- Journeyman Instrument Mechanic with Red Seal certification;
- 10+ years of refinery, upgrader or petro-chemical facilities Analyzer, Instrumentation maintenance experience, Specifically with CEMs, water and product analyzers;- Previous experience the development of Analyzer maintenance and reliability programs;
- Deep and broad experience in areas of Process Instrumentation Analyzer in order to both prevent and solve issues.
- Read and interpret engineering and vendor drawings including OEM manuals, isometric and blue prints;
- Analyzer, Instrumentation device training;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Highly motivated.
