Job Summary
Responds to customer inquiries by telephone or e-mail to provide non-technical problem resolution. Resolves complex or unusual requests and problems that may require a customized response and communicates solution or requested information to the customer. Provides updates to other internal teams on customer needs and factors that contribute to customer satisfaction. Performs routine clerical duties including data entry and filing according to detailed instructions. Maintains various records and logs. Makes minor corrections, codes items, and maintains record of documents processed.
- Record shipping data, including volume handled and shipped, and consumption of packaging materials.
- Examine documents in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
- Compile information, such as shipping rates and progress and packaging material inventories, so that daily production reports can be completed.
- Provide documentation and information to account for delays, difficulties, and changes to shipping schedule and cost estimates.
- Confer with department managers, supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
- Review documents such as shipping reports, shipping orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and department priorities.
- One-year-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Familiar with calendar and scheduling programs, as well as e-mail and desktop publishing applications.
- Adept at data entry using Microsoft Office applications, such as, Excel, Word, and Access.
