McAdams Propane in Henderson, TX is seeking a Customer Service Representative and Dispenser to join the team. The person will interact with customers by proactively addressing inquiries and resolving concerns in addition to providing service to customers at the propane dispensing station (as needed). Our Customer Service Representatives are committed to Service, Efficiency and Safety.
Schedule: This position follows a standard Monday–Friday schedule. During the winter season, Saturday shifts (8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) are required as part of our peak schedule.
- Interacts with customers via telephone, email, or in person to provide support and information on products or services and serves as a liaison between customers and the company
- Collects and enters orders for new or additional products or services
- Forwards customer questions and concerns to the assigned specialist or other appropriate staff
- Field customer questions and concerns; when the issue is beyond the representative’s knowledge, forwards to the assigned specialist or other appropriate staff
- Ensures that appropriate actions are taken to resolve customers problems and concerns
- Maintains customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries, concerns, or comments
- Scheduling and dispatching drivers and service crews to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests or immediate needs.
- Relaying information such as work orders or other messages to and from service crews, drivers and customers.
- Clean, inspect and refill empty propane tanks
- Perform inspection and service on tanks as needed to include changing valves
- Follow all safety protocol and wear appropriate PPE
- Perform all other general duties as assigned

- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience
- Experience in high-volume phone call settings (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Service-oriented and the ability to resolve customer grievances
- Proficient with computer skills and the ability to learn and use current and new software
- Must be proficient with the current Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and utilize different software
- Ability to obtain propane certification within 90 days of employment

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, using a phone, and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed in order to safely assist with duties around the plant
- Must pass pre-employment screening and background check
