Line Clearance Trimmer, Trainee

Primary Function

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of skilled line clearance operations, which include clearing vegetation or debris away from overhead electrical transmission and distribution lines or other electrical infrastructure; and may perform work within safe distance around energized power lines from low to high voltage lines, in accordance to Cal-OSHA and other applicable regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school equivalency with supplemental college or technical courses in forestry, botany, environmental science or other related field and one year experience of general tree maintenance or related work.

Licensing & Certification Requirements

A valid Class "A" driver's license issued by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles is required or ability to obtain within seven months from date of hire.

Veteran's Preference (External Applicants Only): Submit DD form 214 or other evidence of veterans' status by the job posting deadline.

Other Requirements/Testing

Must be able to speak and read in English.

A negative drug test is required as a condition of employment.
