The Lead of Grid Edge Solutions is responsible for developing and leading projects, conducting research, maintaining subject matter expertise, developing business plans, and informing strategy. This role involves preparing reports and customer-facing communications, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and supporting Alectra’s Grid Edge Solutions initiatives. Additionally, this position provides support to other initiatives within the GRE&T Centre.
What you’ll do
Strategy and Research
- Use research and experience to inform strategy development and refine business cases for potential initiatives in grid edge solutions, such as demand-side management and distributed energy resources.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis, including advanced modeling and analysis using Excel and other tools, to develop informed recommendations.
- Conduct research into industry developments, regulatory directions, and vendor capabilities to enhance subject matter expertise and develop program roadmaps.
- Manage projects, including developing and tracking project plans, schedules, timelines, and budgets; track expenses; organize and document meetings; and coordinate internal resources.
- Monitor delivery of work packages led by internal and external partners, manage vendors, and ensure adherence to project frameworks and deliverables.
- Develop reports and presentations to communicate recommendations, project plans, and research findings to stakeholders.
- Support customer engagement activities by contributing to the design of customer-facing materials, monitoring processes, and coordinating responses to feedback.
- Support and mentor team members, review deliverables, and provide constructive feedback.
- Provide project and administrative support to achieve departmental objectives and other initiatives within the GRE&T Centre and Digital and Innovation group.
- Demonstrate professional conduct and align with Alectra’s core values of safety, teamwork, and customer focus.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support operational objectives
Who you are
Education & Technical Knowledge
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- General knowledge of the energy and utility industries, their relationship to customers, and the electricity system.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel.
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
- Experience in the Utility/Energy sector is an asset.
- Experience with demand-side management, customer programs, and product solutions is an asset.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues promptly.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey information clearly.
- Strong research and analytical abilities for data assessment and recommendations.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Detail-oriented with a strong results orientation.
- Valid class "G" driver's license
- Hybrid: This role is based in a hybrid environment, allowing for a mix of remote and in-office work to support team collaboration and business needs.
- Position based in Alectra’s Guelph or Vaughan office, with regular travel to other offices and project sites as required. Travel expenses reimbursed per Alectra policy.
