Lead Assistant General Counsel

Responsible for legal counsel to Xcel Energy and management of Xcel Energy legal services, including outside counsel.

- Provides leadership and counsel to Xcel Energy management on legal, business, legislation, regulation and strategic matters.

- Prepares contracts, agreements and other documents for business transactions.

- Represents Xcel Energy in courts, regulatory agencies and other adjudicatory or adversarial proceedings.

- Manages a team of attorneys within area of expertise. May act as a primary point of contact for business areas.

Minimum Requirements

- J.D. degree from ABA accredited law school;

- Licensed to practice, or able to be licencsed to practice on reciprocity within a reasonable timeframe of accepting the position, in the state where the position is located.

- 10 or more years of practice in corporate law department, law firm, government practice or equivalent experience.

- Leadership experience required.

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $219,000.00 to $271,600.00 per year
