The Associate General Counsel / Senior Attorney will work with subject matter experts and compliance personnel to foster a culture of compliance and adherence to all applicable laws, rules and regulations. Under general guidance, the Associate General Counsel / Senior Attorney will provide legal advice and analysis on general corporate issues including regulatory compliance, operational matters and government and stakeholder relations.
- Manage the compliance program including the records and information program for the Company which requires working with compliance teams.
- Maintaining compliance tracking.
- Regular updating of policies and procedures.
- Training.
- Reviewing audit reports and tracking compliance of audit findings.
- Retrieval of hardcopy and digital records.
- In addition to the duties above, the Attorney will work to build and maintain local, state and government relations which support and enhance Iroquois’ reputation.
- Public affairs initiatives include, but are not limited to, New Project outreach campaigns, legislative monitoring, public relations, local permitting, media monitoring, responses to media requests, regulatory compliance, and crisis communications which support and enhance Iroquois’ reputation.- Attorney with 5-10+ years energy compliance experience is preferred.
- In-house counsel experience is a plus.
- The attorney should have experience in state and federal regulatory proceedings.
- Experience with PHMSA, environmental, and FERC regulations is a plus.
