Leach Pad Operator

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Safely and effectively implement pad plumbing plan, operate pipe assembly equipment

· Monitor and document pad conditions, troubleshoot and correct equipment and plumbing problems

· Operate mobile equipment: must be able or trainable on operating dozers, trackhoes, skidsteers and loaders.

· Provide assistance to the crusher crew

Skills/Qualifications:

· Experience on heap leach pads strongly preferred.

· Knowledge and specific skill requirements include basic mechanical skills.

· Capable of working without direct supervision.

· Ability to maintain housekeeping standards to a high level.

· Excellent safety, performance and attendance records.

· Current MSHA certification strongly preferred.

· Must be safety and environmentally conscious.

Physical Demands:

To be eligible for this position, an individual must possess the following requirements to perform the essential job functions:

· Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.

· Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labour under all weather conditions.

· Ability to safely navigate uneven terrain.

· Able to wear and demonstrate to employees the use of personal protective equipment including hardhat, steel toed footwear, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves (rubber, leather & cloth), and/or any other equipment required to do the job assigned safely.

· Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information, to management.

· Ability to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms.

· Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.
