The Operator Heap Leach 1 is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heap leach circuits and associated systems to support overall process operations at the gold mine. This role ensures compliance with all applicable State and Federal safety and environmental regulations, as well as SSR Mining policies and procedures. The Operator will monitor, inspect, and maintain leaching systems, assist with troubleshooting, and perform operational tasks to optimize metal recovery while prioritizing safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.

- Perform all Tech 1 duties proficiently.

- Employees will perform other duties as directed and needed by the company to ensure optimal safe operation.

- Install heap leach piping and perform basic leaching operations with assistance.

- Able to recognize equipment or systems operating outside normal ranges.

- Only operate equipment or systems for which training has been provided.

- Perform all pre-shift, pre-op and workplace inspections as required.

- Communicate all pertinent information during shift as required.

- Follow good housekeeping practices.

- Complete all necessary paperwork in a complete and timely manner.

Is This You?

- 0–1-year previous heap leach experience.

- Previous mining experience is preferred but not required.

- Mobile equipment experience preferred but not required.

- Must complete training and successfully pass the Basic Leach Pad Operator Circuit test within 120 days of hire, in accordance with the site’s Line of Progression system.

Working Conditions & Location:

- Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level. Workers in this position are routinely exposed to conditions at various work sites throughout this range of elevations.

- Weather conditions can and do change frequently and can become severe at times.

- Ability to complete work tasks while exposed to weather conditions / elevation.

- Arrive at work site with appropriate gear suitable for weather conditions.

- Able to work as a productive member of a team.

For applicants residing in CO, the hourly rate offered for this overtime-eligible role will depend on the level, and the range of the hourly rate is $32.21(Tech 1) – 45.23 (Tech 6).
