Cortez - Heap Leach Operator

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Heap Leach Operator to join our Cortez Process Operations department. Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Heap Leach Supervisor, the Heap Leach Operator is responsible for the following:

- Safely operate leach pad and ancillary mobile equipment

- Inspect work areas for any safety, environmental, or operational hazards

- Comply with legal obligations and NGM’s Safety policies and procedures

- Measure and record preg and barren solutions samples

- Measure and record operating data, flow meter (GPM), pressure readings

- Install emitter tubing and HDPE pipe

- Inspect solution ponds, netting or balls, pumps, valves, lines, or any environmental hazards

- Operate various equipment for the leach pad

- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Experience with connecting and disconnecting piping and irrigation systems for heap leach pads preferred

- Capable of working without direct supervision required

- Two (2) years milling or mining experience preferred

- Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions required

- Ability to lift seventy-five (75) pounds required

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

- Proven safe work record required

- The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
