LANDSCAPE TECHNICIAN JOB SUMMARY

The Landscape Technician I performs a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: planting, fertilizing, sod laying, trimming, digging, and raking throughout the Lakewood Ranch Inter-District Authority property. The Landscape Technician I will assist with unloading of work/delivery trucks, site set up of plant materials, and assist in maintaining a clean and organized job site.

LANDSCAPE TECHNICIAN MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- One (1) to two (2) years landscape maintenance experience preferred.

- Must be punctual; regular attendance is required.

- Must maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.

- Successful completion of background check.

LANDSCAPE TECHNICIAN KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

- General knowledge of Florida plant materials and landscape practices.

- Knowledge of basic small hand tools and power tools.

- Knowledge of safety and security procedures and how to use equipment and materials properly.

- Must be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout the workday.

- Must be able to work in various positions including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.

LANDSCAPE TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- The safe use of landscaping tools and processes.

- Pruning wetland buffer vegetation and removal of exotic species.

- Planting of landscape shrubbery, trees, and sod.

- Maintain company vehicles as assigned.

Job Grade 4 - Pay Range: $18.07 - $26.20 Hourly

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
