Land Agent

General Overview:

This position will coordinate and conduct land related activities necessary to identify and acquire leasehold/curative documents in target areas; activities also include coordination of leasehold activities with title staff and other departments.

Responsibilities:

‐     Conduct negotiations with mineral owners to acquire oil and gas leases, mineral purchases or curative documents

‐     Serve as a liaison between oil and gas companies and oil and gas and/or real estate owners

‐     Experts in negotiations and contract drafting with great interpersonal and business skill sets

‐     Establish and maintain contact with multiple landowners in an area of focus

‐     Prepare and negotiate appropriate contracts and agreements to facilitate leasing efforts

‐     Negotiate with mineral owners to obtain leases and extensions/renewals of expiring leases

‐     Compile final lease purchase reports and lease packets

‐     Obtain necessary title documentation to support mineral ownership

‐     Read and plat legal descriptions as needed

‐     Organize required legal documents and present in an orderly fashion

‐      Requires knowledge of property law, estates and trusts, and contract law

Qualifications:

‐     Must be ambitious and self-motivated with strong negotiating skills.

‐     Attention to detail.

‐     Ability to establish priorities, work independently and accomplish objectives with limited to no supervision

‐     Strong written and oral communication skills

‐     Candidate should be proficient in computer skills (MS Windows, Word, Excel)

‐     Gains trust quickly of other parties to effective lead and negotiation

‐     Must be able to work well with others in high stress situations

‐     Be a team player

‐     Must work well with others in high stress situations
