This is a 1099-NEC / Independent Contractor role for a Land Agent located in Virginia.
- $400.00 per day.
- Additional lease signing incentive payments.
- Conduct initial outreach to landowners to introduce development opportunities for solar and battery energy storage projects.
- Negotiate commercial terms with landowners including lease payments, option agreements, and other site control structures.
- Secure site control agreements (options, leases, easements, and purchase agreements) necessary for project development.
- Maintain and update internal project tracking software with landowner communications, deal status, and key milestones.
- Report acquisition progress and results to management no less than weekly, including outreach activity, negotiations, and executed agreements.
- Travel extensively (approximately 75% field travel) to meet landowners, review sites, and support project development activities.
- Work closely with development, real estate, and project teams to advance projects from outreach through executed agreements.
- Previous experience acquiring solar or energy storage sites required.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role and manage multiple land campaigns simultaneously.
