IT Help Desk Associate

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt failsafe microreactor that can be transported anywhere power is needed and run for up to five years without the need to refuel. Portable nuclear power with rapid deploy capability can replace similar-sized diesel generators, and provide critical asset support for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases. Radiant’s unique, practical approach to nuclear development utilizes modern software engineering to rapidly achieve safe, factory-built microreactors that leverage existing, well-qualified materials. Founded in 2020, Radiant is on track to test its first reactor next year at the Idaho National Laboratory, with initial customer deliveries beginning in 2028.

IT Help Desk Associate

Radiant is seeking a dedicated IT Help Desk Associate. You will be the first line of support to all end users in the organization for computer, software, hardware, and network issues. This role requires being both reactive and proactive, from troubleshooting and solving problems to implementing process improvements to enhance the employee experience. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, excellent customer service skills, and a desire to learn new technologies continuously. You will be instrumental in enabling our success to test the first new reactor design in over 50 years by 2026.

Responsibilities And Duties

- Provide first-line technical assistance and support to in-person and remote end users, resolving issues with computers, software, hardware, networks, and peripherals.

- Manage the support request software system (Jira) to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.

- Maintain IT inventory, including workstations and accessories.

- Collaborate with other members of IT to complete user-facing projects.

- Provide smooth and effective onboarding and offboarding for all employees and contractors.

- Develop and maintain documentation and processes as the company scales.

Required Skills And Qualifications

- 1+ years in a help desk, IT associate, or similar industry position.

- Basic knowledge of and experience with troubleshooting Windows devices (consumer or enterprise).

- Excellent and effective verbal and written communication.

- Must have great attention to detail in both issue resolution and proactive follow-up in process improvement.

Desired Skills And Qualifications

- 2+ years in a help desk, IT associate, or similar industry position.

- Experience with Office 365, Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), and/or Intune.

- Experience with troubleshooting macOS and Linux.

- Desire to go the extra mile and leave no stone unturned when troubleshooting and reaching solutions.

- Eager to continuously learn new technologies with an innate sense of curiosity.
