The Vault Material Control Lead is responsible for the control, integrity, and accountability of all precious metals inventory, including both raw materials and finished goods, within a highly secure vault environment. This role ensures strict adherence to security protocols, inventory accuracy, and chain-of-custody procedures while supporting production, fabrication, and fulfillment operations.
This position reports to the operations manager and serves as a key individual contributor supporting vault material control processes. This role will help maintain and improve procedures to ensure accuracy, audit readiness, and secure, efficient material flow across the organization.
- Maintain absolute accuracy of inventory through system management, reconciliations, and controlled documentation practices.
- Ensure compliance with all security policies, including restricted access, surveillance protocols, and documentation standards.
- Oversee and execute all vault material control activities, including receipt, storage, movement, and issuance of raw materials and finished goods.
- Verify weights, counts, and specifications of materials against documentation and system records.
- Approve and document all material transfers in compliance with internal controls and security requirements.
- Ensure continuous audit readiness and support internal and external audit activities.
- Conduct and oversee cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Develop, implement, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for vault and inventory control functions.
- Execute and enforce chain-of-custody and dual-control procedures for all material movements.
- Monitor inventory trends, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain control and accuracy
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and strict control of vault storage areas
- Serve as a subject matter expert for vault material control processes and systems
- Associate or bachelor’s degree Required.
- 3+ years of experience in inventory control, vault operations, or secure material management- Experience working with high value, controlled, or regulated materials strongly preferred
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems required
