Position Summary The Human Resources Manager will oversee all aspects of the HR function for our electrical utility contracting company. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HR policies, ensuring compliance with labor laws, managing employee relations, and supporting company leadership with strategic workforce planning. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in a unionized environment, with the ability to foster positive labor relations and maintain compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the HR department, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, benefits, and employee relations.
- Serve as the primary contact for union representatives; interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements.
- Support labor negotiations, grievance resolution, and contract compliance.
- Advise leadership on HR policies, legal compliance, and workforce strategies.
- Implement HR best practices to support company goals and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Develop and deliver training programs for supervisors and employees.
- Maintain accurate HR metrics and reporting to support decision-making.
- Partner with safety and operations teams to support compliance with workplace safety regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree or HR certification preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a management role and 2 years in a union setting- Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and union practices.
- Experience working in construction, utilities, or related industries preferred.
